Policy Statement

Kanak Nand Kishore College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (KNK College) is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and ragging-free environment for all students. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited inside and outside the campus premises in accordance with UGC Regulations and applicable laws of India.

The institution follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and any student found involved in ragging activities shall face strict disciplinary and legal action.

What is Ragging?

Ragging includes any act that causes physical, mental, emotional, or psychological harm, discomfort, embarrassment, or harassment to a student. It may be conducted individually or in groups and can occur directly, indirectly, verbally, physically, or online.

Ragging May Include:

✔ Verbal abuse, teasing, or insulting behavior
✔ Bullying, intimidation, or humiliation
✔ Physical assault or harmful activities
✔ Forcing students to perform acts against their will
✔ Psychological harassment or threats
✔ Any act affecting the dignity or mental well-being of a student
✔ Online harassment, social media bullying, or misconduct

Prohibited Conduct

The following activities are strictly prohibited within the college campus, hostels, clinical areas, transportation facilities, and any institution-related environment:

✘ Physical abuse or assault
✘ Mental harassment or humiliation
✘ Use of offensive language or abusive behavior
✘ Forced participation in activities against consent
✘ Harassment based on gender, religion, caste, appearance, or background
✘ Threatening or intimidating junior students
✘ Any act disturbing the academic or emotional well-being of students

Anti-Ragging Committee

To ensure effective implementation of anti-ragging measures, the college has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad.

Committee Responsibilities

✔ Monitor and prevent ragging activities on campus
✔ Conduct awareness and orientation programs
✔ Encourage students to report incidents without fear
✔ Take immediate action on complaints received
✔ Ensure strict compliance with UGC anti-ragging regulations

Preventive Measures Taken by the College

✔ Mandatory Anti-Ragging Affidavit submission by students and parents during admission

✔ Regular awareness campaigns and orientation sessions for freshers and senior students

✔ Continuous monitoring of classrooms, hostels, campus premises, and common areas

✔ Counseling and support systems for students

✔ Strict disciplinary and monitoring mechanisms to maintain campus safety

Disciplinary Action Against Ragging

Any student found guilty of ragging may face strict disciplinary action, including:

✘ Warning or suspension
✘ Expulsion from the institution
✘ Cancellation of admission
✘ Debarring from examinations or academic activities
✘ Hostel expulsion
✘ Filing of police complaint or criminal proceedings as per law

The severity of punishment will depend on the nature and seriousness of the offense.

Student & Parent Undertaking

As per UGC regulations, all students and parents/guardians are required to submit a signed Anti-Ragging Affidavit during the admission process confirming that they understand and will comply with anti-ragging rules and regulations.
