The Proctorial Board is constituted to uphold discipline, maintain decorum, and ensure adherence to the code of conduct among students and staff at KANAK NAND KISHORE COLLEGE OF NATUROPATHY AND YOGIC SCIENCE. The Board will act as a quasi-judicial body to investigate and recommend actions on any misconduct or violation of institutional norms.

• To oversee campus discipline and ethical conduct.
• To resolve complaints and maintain a safe and professional academic environment.
• To serve as an advisory and investigative body for matters referred by the Principal.
• To instill values of accountability, respect, and professionalism, especially in the context of a medical institution.

Responsibilities of the Proctorial Board

Enforcement of Discipline

• Monitor behavior on campus, including hostels, academic areas, and hospital premises.
• Prevent ragging, harassment, substance abuse, vandalism, and unethical behavior.

Inquiry and Action

• Investigate reported incidents of indiscipline.
• Conduct hearings by giving all parties a chance to present their side.
• Submit a written report and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures to the Principal.

Preventive Activities

• Organize orientation sessions on discipline, ethics, and professional behavior.
• Educate students on the consequences of misconduct.
• Encourage peer mentorship and leadership.

Code of Disciplinary Offenses

• Academic dishonesty (e.g., cheating in exams, falsifying data)
• Acts of ragging (as defined by UGC/Medical Council of India/NCISM guidelines)
• Physical or verbal abuse
• Substance abuse or intoxication on campus
• Damage to college property
• Defying authority or disrupting institutional functioning

Procedure for Reporting and Inquiry

1. Complaint Submission: Written or verbal complaints can be made to any board
member or via an online form/email.
2. Preliminary Review: Chief Proctor assesses if a full inquiry is warranted.
3. Investigation: Evidence is collected, and involved parties are interviewed.
4. Board Meeting: Case is discussed, and recommendations are made.
5. Principal’s Decision: Final authority for action lies with the Principal.

Disciplinary Actions

Verbal/Written warning
• Suspension from classes/hostel/library
• Fine or community service
• Expulsion (in severe or repeated cases)
• Legal reporting in accordance with law (e.g., ragging or criminal behavior)

Confidentiality and Fairness

All proceedings are confidential.
• Natural justice principles will be followed: right to be heard and unbiased inquiry.
• Students have the right to appeal decisions to the College Disciplinary Appeals
Committee

Annual Report and Review

The Proctorial Board will submit an annual report of activities, recommendations, and
statistics to the Principal. Based on trends, preventive and corrective actions will be
reviewed and revised.
